» Fall Conference/AGM

The Fall Conference/AGM is a two-day event that occurs annually on the third weekend in October. The location of the conference usually alternates between Regina and Saskatoon. In even-numbered years, the Fall Conference takes place in Saskatoon and in odd years it takes place in Regina.

The John V. Hicks Awards Luncheon, along with the Caroline Heath Memorial Lecture, both take place during the Conference weekend.

The SWG Annual Fall Conference and AGM are planned for October 22-24, 2020. The theme of our conference is Inventing the Future; an apt theme as we navigate new ways of learning and being together as a writing community. Our conference will look a bit different than “usual” this year, due to current health restrictions.

We are planning a conference that will be a mix of online programming and small in-person events in Regina.

The Guild’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in conjunction with the Fall Conference. The AGM takes place on the Sunday of the Conference and is an event where only SWG members can vote.

Call for SWG Board Nominations

Please consider volunteering for the SWG. Every year the Nominations Committee of the Board requires several SWG members willing to let their names stand for one of a number of vacancies that will be open on the Board in October.

Elections to the Board will be conducted at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) during the SWG Fall Conference.

If you wish to nominate someone, please be sure of their willingness to serve before sending their name forward. Thank you. Nomination forms are available below.
