Summer Reading Series - Book Bytes – Call for Readers and Hosts
Deadline to apply: June 1, 2020, 4:30 pm
This year, Words in the Park and Readings by the River combine to go online with “Book Bytes”!
Are you an author looking for an opportunity to present your work? Do you have access to the internet and a device that can stream your video or voice over Zoom*? Then this is the place for you to be on Wednesdays over the lunch hour during the summer months.
Reading dates are available on July 8, 15, 22, August 5, 12 and 19. Readings are 15 minutes each (3 per day). Preference will be given to Saskatchewan-based authors who have not read in the past year. Writers of all genres are welcome to apply.
Submit your literary CV or a letter explaining your experience to be a presenter no later than 4:30 pm on June 1, 2020. Please include the date(s) you are available and the genre of the work you intend to read.
The SWG is also seeking people to host these online events. Gain valuable hosting skills while enjoying the work of Saskatchewan authors! Simply send an email if you would like to host along with the date(s) you are available.
*Please note: in recognition of our rural members and those with slower internet speeds, we have adapted our call for readers and hosts. Instead of a live reading, we will accept a pre-recorded video of you reading your work. You will simply upload your video to a cloud software service (like Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive) and share the link with us. We will download your video and play it during the live event. Due to the nature of this event, hosts will need to be able to connect live to Zoom. Please do not let your internet speed keep you from applying to be a reader.
