Windscript Vol. 36: Call for Submissions

Call for writing submissions for Windscript: Volume 36, the SWG's magazine of high school writing, is now on! Our submission deadline date is January 15, 2020

We welcome students to submit creative writing in any and all forms including poetry, prose, and creative nonfiction.

Windscript is the annual magazine of high school writing published by the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild since 1983. A magazine launch is hosted annually in conjunction with the Cathedral Village Arts Festival in Regina, and copies of the magazine are distributed to schools and libraries across the province.

This is an excellent chance for students to be published for the first time and be paid for their selected submissions. Awards will also be given to our top entries in three categories.

Full submission guidelines can be found below or on our website.

Please note that as in all writing competitions, these guidelines are important and must be followed in order for submissions to be accepted.

Send submissions to submissions@skwriter.com

We are pleased to announce Tara Gereaux as Editor for Windscript Volume 36.

Tara Gereaux’s first book, a teen novella (Size of a Fist) was nominated for two 2016 Saskatchewan Book Awards. Her next novel is forthcoming from Coteau Books in spring 2020. Tara has an MFA in creative writing from UBC and has been published in several literary magazines. From the Qu’Appelle Valley in Saskatchewan and of Métis and European heritage, Tara lived in Vancouver for nearly two decades before returning to her home on the prairie.
