Call for Applications: Editor of Windscript: Volume 36

 
Call for applications for editor of Windscript: Volume 36, the SWG's magazine of high school writing, is now on! The successful candidate will have recent experience working with high school students along with the necessary editorial knowledge. Editor responsibilities will be the following: 
  • Reading, reviewing and selecting the pieces to be published, notifying the successful contributors, and working with them on any editing that may be necessary. Review and coordinate placement of the pieces for the magazine.
  • Provide the Publication Coordinator with the edited work along with its placement order within the publication by March 1
  • Select winners and honourable mentions for the magazine awards
  • Proofread the final layout – final layout will completed by April 8, proofreading will be complete by April 22
  • Be available to attend, assist, and host the mid-May launch in Regina. 
 
The remuneration for this contract position is $1,000 payable in two installments: the first on completion of the selection and editing process and the second on completion of the launch event. The SWG will reimburse long distance telephone and courier charges related to this project.
 
Please note that the Guild considers this position a great professional development opportunity and will consider editors with limited experience.
