- Barbara Langhorst's first novel, Want, described as "funny, crisp, brilliant," was released by Palimpsest Press in October, 2018. It was shortlisted for the Regina Public Library Book of the Year Award in 2019. Her reading tour for this novel took her across SK, AB, and ON, and she was interviewed on radio, television, and online.
Her debut book of poetry, restless white fields (NeWest 2012), won the Saskatchewan Arts Board Poetry Award, the Robert Kroetsch Poetry Book of the Year Award, and was listed as one of the top books of poetry for 2012 on DUSIE. Her poem "Spring Romance" aired on CBC Radio's SoundXchange, and she was interviewed on CBC's Blue Sky. This book took her to read from Vancouver to Ottawa.
In her twenty-two-year career as an instructor, editor, arts worker, and mentor, Langhorst has won three teaching awards. She enjoys working with groups ranging from junior high to seniors, and all ages in between.
