Marny Duncan-Cary

  • Marny Duncan-Cary is an engaging, enthusiastic and heart-centered singer/songwriter/author from Lumsden whose music and words convey the heart of her life in southern Saskatchewan. Her debut album, Reason For Bein’, was released to national critical acclaim and garnered four Saskatchewan Country Music Awards in the process. Among many performances throughout western Canada, Marny has had the honour of singing for Queen Elizabeth during the royal visit to Saskatchewan. As extensions to her songs, Marny’s has released three children’s books. “Linger”, a favourite with early childhood teachers and parents, shares a mother’s feelings of loss and pride on her child’s first day of school. “Who’s That Man?” won a silver medal in the Children’s Moon Beam Book Awards. This book is also included in the Saskatchewan’s Board of Education recommended reading list for Remembrance Day materials. Marny’s third book, “Rockstar”, is expressed with a great deal of humour. It explores the everyday life of parents everywhere. Currently, Marny sings and writes whenever the spirit moves her – she has no set agenda. You can find out more about Marny at
