Windscript Vol. 35 Launch

The Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild and the Cathedral Village Arts Festival are pleased to present the launch of Windscript magazine vol. 35, featuring some of the best writing by high school students in Saskatchewan.

Windscript is an annual magazine of high school writing, published by the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild since 1983. The SWG is proud to support the fresh, original work of student writers.

Join Editor, Tea Gerbeza, and some of the students from this year's Windscript magazine as they read from their recently published work. Awards will be presented for the best writing in each category.

A reception will follow the readings and award presentations; join us for some refreshments and snacks.

The event is FREE to attend, all are welcome.

Feature poet: Saskatchewan's first Youth Poet Laureate, Alasdair Rees.

Alasdair Rees is a Fransaskois artist with fingers in many pies. He is a former Saskatoon individual poetry slam champion, teaches cultural studies and French at the University of Saskatchewan, and has served a term as the Regina Public Interest Research Group's Artist in Residence. His work has been exhibited across Western Canada and can be read in GUTS, Urbania, Oratorealis, Revue Moebius, and ÖMËGÄ.
  About Windscript Vol 35’s editor:
Tea Gerbeza never fails to litter the house with mugs of half-finished coffee. She is from Regina, Saskatchewan and is finishing her Master’s degree in Creative Writing & English at the University of Regina. In her free time, Tea is a paper quilling artist and loves to have adventures with her dog, Tonks. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in the Society, Spring, Poetry is Dead, and SPACE, among others.
