| NOTE: One reading means that an individual writer reads from his or her work for 45 to 60 minutes and may be available for discussion afterwards. Please note that workshops are not included in this program, but can be negotiated directly with the writer. Please ensure that you discuss the format and the subject matter of the presentation prior to the author's visit.
Schools, writing groups, and community organizations may apply for up to three readings per program year. This could be either one writer for three readings, or three different authors each with a separate reading, or a combination of one or two writers totalling three readings.
The host pays a fee to the SWG of $110 per reading. This fee is reduced to $35 per reading for any school or community with a population under 100. The host fee is only a portion of the total program cost. Each writer is paid a total of $175 plus mileage costs from the SWG. The SWG will not cover mileage for writers living out of province.
If you have chosen to host more than one reading, do you want the same writer for each reading? |
