» Bookworm's Corner

Bookworm’s Corner is a half-hour TV show which features picture books by Saskatchewan authors for Kindergarten to Grade 2 children. This show is a partnered program between Access Communications and the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild with the concept of promoting literacy and profiling local writers and books. The show premiered on Access7 in January 2011.

The premise of Bookworm’s Corner is that a Saskatchewan author or a high profile personality reads from their book to a group of approximately ten children in a local school or community library setting. There are two segments (two books) featured on each show, with introductions and endings provided by the host of the show, author Jean Freeman. Each school or library-participant receives a copy of the author’s book for their library.

Bookworm's Corner airs on Access7 twice daily: Monday-Friday 12:00-12:30 p.m. and 3:30-4:00 p.m.
