Join long-time SWG member and multi-genre writer Shelley A. Leedahl in "Prompts," a writing workshop designed to generate new ideas. Poets and prose writers are both welcome to this discussion\exercise-based evening. Learn how the very act of walking inspires. Write moon metaphors, hone observational skills, and pen pieces based on a "favourite place" meditation, mothers, Home Depot paint chips, and more! Be prepared to share and have fun. Participants should come with writing materials.

About the Instructor:

Edmonton-based writer Shelley A. Leedahl lived in Saskatchewan most of her life, and has long been active in this province's writing landscape. She frequently presents across the country, and works as an editor, a freelancer, and a radio advertising copywriter for two stations. Her first book, A Few Words for January (poetry), was released in 1990. Her most recent books are Listen, Honey (stories, 2012) and Wretched Beast (poetry, 2011). I Wasn't Always Like This (essays) is coming out with Signature Editions in Fall 2014.
