I am inquisitive and reflective by nature, and when I changed my employment status from full-time to casual in 2018, I knew the path forward would become clear if I were open to change.
I had no plans to start a podcast, lifestyle and food blogs or to do freelance writing. I read an article about blogging, became intrigued, started writing, and haven’t stopped.
Having my own writing space allows me the creative freedom to write about whatever piques my interest: non-fiction historical stories, articles about world events, and collective human experiences. Many of my stories are tempered with humour.
One thing led to another, and I opened a gift shop, selling handmade products and small gift items online, at craft shows, and from home. Eventually, I began collaborating with other independent businesses to sell my products at their establishments.
I find joy in having something of my own that I can put my name to; my projects' diversity challenge and engage me. On any given day, you can find me writing, making products, or recording a podcast or video episode.
My husband and I are farm-raised, small-town Saskatchewan people. We have a daughter, a son, and five grandchildren. I like reading, spending time in my garden, boating, and fishing.
