Bio

  • Kathleen K. Coleclough - a member of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan - was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She currently resides in Riceton, SK with her husband Jeff and two daughters Cynthia and Laura.
    Kathleen and Jeff own and operate "Kakwa", which specializes in making Aboriginal artifact replicas for museums, historic sites, and educational programs. Kakwa offers a series of presentations and workshops on traditional Native skills for public and classroom use. Kakwa also produces a line of high-quality jewellery and artwork, as well as providing props, set-dec, and costuming to the film and television industry.
    Kathleen was co-editor of "Northern Metal", an idependant music magazine, from 1983 to 1986, and continued to write as a freelance journalist. Kathleen currently has 3 books in print, as well as various teaching resources.

      With Kakwa we offer a variety of presentations and workshops - mainly for elementary classrooms, though we also do public demonstrations. There are six presentations and seven hands-on workshops, including two storytelling workshops. For a complete list, please contact Kathleen directly.
