The SWG and Access Communications are partnering together to develop a new television show called “Follow That Book!” Our pilot episode is scheduled to air in October. For our series we are currently seeking youth ages 8-12 willing be part of the audience and to ask selected questions of the author/presenter. We will select six children for the pilot. Should the pilot be successful we will use our list of auditioned children for future episodes
Auditions will take place on Friday, August 22 at 2pm at the Access studio. If selected, children will only need to participate for up to two hours for filming. A presenter will be read sections of the book “the Ghosts of Government House” and each child will prompted with a question to ask the presenter.
Filming for the pilot will take place at the Government House for a period of up to two hours. Each child will receive a free copy of the book given a few weeks beforehand, as well as a gift bag of swag. Follow That Book! will be an extension of the original Bookworm’s Corner concept (currently aired on Access), expanding the model to include juvenile books (for readers 7-12 years of age). Each episode will include a reading of a Saskatchewan book by the author, a local celebrity, or a person of a suitable profession to six children ages 8-12. Follow That Book! will be providing education on the area being filmed, information on the topic of the book, and provide promotion to the many great Saskatchewan authors we have.If you are interested in having your child take part in the auditions, please pre-register with the program assistant, Caelan Reilly at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 306-791-7746. Email or call if you have any questions.
