- Katherine Lawrence is an established writer whose work has appeared in literary journals across Canada and the U.K. Her third collection of poetry, Never Mind, will be released in the spring of 2016 by Turnstone Press.
The Fall of 2017 will see Coteau Books release her young adult novel-in-verse, Stay.
Her first collection of poetry, Ring Finger, Left Hand (Coteau Books, 2001) won the Brenda Macdonald Riches Award for best first book with the Saskatchewan Book Awards. Her second collection, Lying to Our Mothers (Coteau Books, 2006) was short listed for the Anne Szumigalski Award and the Alfred G. Bailey Prize for poetry. She has also published two chapbooks: Start with the Answer (GritLit, 2009) and Split-ends (Jack Pine Press, 2005).
Her current poetry manuscript won the 2014 City of Regina Writing Award.
Katherine is Chair of the Access Copyright Foundation, a past-president of the Sage Hill Writing Experience Board of Directors and the former (Saskatchewan) representative for the League of Canadian Poets.
Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Katherine has lived in Saskatchewan since 1982. She is a graduate of Carleton University.Currently, Katherine is completing the MFA in Writing program at the University of Saskatchewan.
