Bio

  • Author/illustrator Glenda Goertzen was born, raised and educated in Saskatchewan, where most of her books take place. Though she spent many hours of her childhood writing stories, she initially chose a career in film and video. She worked her way through a wide variety of multi-media positions, including producer and writer of a children's program in Regina. Suddenly overwhelmed by a desire to be surrounded by books rather than television screens, she headed for Saskatoon and studied to become a library technician.

Eventually she found herself in Prince Albert, where she now works in the library of the First Nations University of Canada. Shortly after launching into her library career, her best selling children's novel The Prairie Dogs was published. She now spends her days, at home and at work, surrounded by books in various stages of completion.
