- Shannon Wright grew up in a small town near Regina. She completed a B.Sc. Biochemistry degree from the University of Regina. She moved to Saskatoon and completed a M.Sc. degree in Neuropsychiatry Research. She is now a stay-at-home mom who is actively involved in her community. As an entrepreneur she started her own home-based business, Whole Wheat Web DESIGN. Working from home, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family. She has recently published a children's book and is excited to share her story A Song to Sing.
It's a story about Kate, who loves to sing, and everywhere she goes people are telling her to stop singing. But her song is both contagious and inspiring! The book provides an opportunity for discussion with children about songs they like to sing, events in their day, and the things they dream about. Books are about more than the story itself, but about how we relate to the story and illustrations, and how they inspire us to be creative and share our own experiences with others.
Shannon enjoys actively engaging listeners while reading her story to groups and discussing the process of its creation, showing some of the original sketches and paintings. She hopes to inspire others to write and publish their own stories.
A Song to Sing is the third book in the See a Book Take a Collection. www.seeabook.com
