Bio

  • Marion Mutala has a master's degree in education administration and taught for 30 years. With a mad passion for the arts she loves to write, sing, folkdance, play guitar, flower garden, travel, read and play badminton and pickleball. Marion's teaching and life experiences help her develop unique stories and songs, and her poetry has appeared in print as well. "Baba's Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian Christmas" is a national best selling, award winning book (Anna Pidruchney Award -2010) and is her first book. Her second book is "Baba's Babushka:A Magical Ukrainian Easter" and was nominated for a Saskatchewan Book Award in the Publishing in Education Category. (2013) Her third book in her trilogy is called "Baba's Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian Wedding " and has been nominated for a High Plains Book Award in the Best Children's Book Category(2014).Her fourth book is called "Grateful." (2014) She is available to do readings of her poetry, her books or her work or sing. She started a group called,"The Sassy Sisters" with her sister and they entertain by singing old time music many elderly in nursing homes or senior places. Their goal is to play at all the nursing homes and community events in Saskatoon.
