Lunches in Victoria Park are more interesting in the summer! Beginning on June 29 and continuing each Wednesday of the month until August 24 (with the exception of August 3) the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild is proud to present the 7th annual Words in the Park program.
This program provides the downtown lunch crowd a chance to experience an eclectic mix of authors and storytellers, between 12 pm and 1 pm, in the north-east corner of Victoria Park. The authors represent a variety of genres including: playwrights, children’s authors, poets, spoken word, and non-fiction. Whether they are just emerging or already established, a mix of authors from across Saskatchewan will be on hand each Wednesday to read selections of their work. The Regina Public Library offers an alternative venue in the Film Theatre of their Central Branch, in case of inclement weather.

July 6: Featuring Saskatchewan Book Awards Authors Tara Gereaux, and Gerry Hill. Hosted by Courtney Bates-Hardy.
July 13: Lynda Monahan, Grace Chan, and Marie Powell. Hosted by Lynda Monahan.
July 20: Dr. Blair Stonechild, Night Keepness, and Randy Lundy. Hosted by Nickita Longman.
July 27: Open Mic Featuring Erik Mehlsen (a.k.a. Del Suelo). Hosted by Heather Getz.
Aug. 10: Bob Friedrich, Darwin Mott, and Shelley Banks. Hosted by BJ Muntain.
August 17: Keith Foster, Marion Beck, and TBA. Hosted by Marie Powell.
